I hope 2014 is off to an awesome start for everyone!!
The most exciting news I have to share from the first month of the year is that after five months in a temporary location, we have moved into our brand new Ballantyne office for CENTURY 21 Real Estate Consultants!
It’s such an awesome and contemporary space, complete with a coffee bar!! Yes; I’m fondly remembering AND reliving my barista days as a college student… while trying to remember that I’m actually here for Real Estate! But I digress…
We had our first sales meeting here last week with all of our agents, and we are getting really good feedback on our office space. More than anything, it was wonderful to have an office large enough to host all of our very talented agents! Our space is very functional, very cool and modern, and a great place for clients to visit, so I’m very excited. We will be having our grand opening in late February (more details to come), and we would like as much of the public to stop by to join us in celebrating our new office!
From a personal perspective, I swam in the 40th Annual Sunbelt US Masters Swim Meet during the last weekend of January. I swam a total of 5 individual events (3 on Saturday; 2 on Sunday) and 4 relays (2 each day). It was a ton of fun, and our team placed FOURTH overall among the 38 teams, and THIRD among the NC-based teams. That’s an awesome accomplishment in just our second year of existence! We had 32 swimmers swim this year compared to just eight of us last year.
The meet was just so cool, as it combined people from our team who are seasoned swimmers, people who are triathletes, people who have never swum in a meet, people who haven’t competed in 20+ years, and people, who just a year ago, could barely make it just a few lengths of the pool!!!
Personally, I am very happy about my performances. I came in 1st in my age group in 100 back; 3rd in 50 back; 6th in 50 free; 7th in 100 free; and 7th in 100 IM. I also scored in all of my events, which was awesome and helpful to the team!
Also during January, I participated in a Junior Achievement Bowl-a-thon. It was an amazing opportunity to raise money for Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas. Our team of four raised several hundred dollars for a terrific organization! Bowling was a lot of fun (and a bit competitive!), but all in, it was very neat to gather with a bowling alley full of professionals focused on the same meaningful cause! Junior Achievement is a great organization to help grow the future leaders in our community, and I was really proud to be part of that and to support that organization.
On the home front, McKenzie and Anja are in the second semesters of their school years. They continue to do well and manage their schoolwork, outside activities and friendships well! We couldn’t be more proud of our girls.
Here’s to starting off 2014 with some great events! My hope for all of us is that 2014 continues to be a year of success, fun, growth and giving back!
